|
|
I animated the garage door tonight. it turned out pretty well, maybe better than i expected even. I posted the video at http://vrml-x3d.ning.com/ if anyone wants to take a peek. I have had time to clean the exported vrml file up a bit but due to the rather large interpolator bodies it is going to take me some time to transpose all of them so the door can close once it's open. LOL
The garage is done as well but i havent had time to clean that up yet. It is a 2 car garage.
I was kind of worried about the animation process but finally kicked myself in the arse today and just did it. |

Ok i finished the garage today, completre with working garage doors. The animation process was kind of arduous. The animating itself went ok but then to incorporate it into a script to be able to open and close the door I had to create 12 MFVec3f fields and 12 MFRotaion fields in order to pull this off. The Interpolator required a seperate set of values for each direction and I was feeling a bit depressed about transposing all those numbers by hand. Finally it dawned on me that I could use M$ Excel. I pasted the original set of values into a column and used M$'s sort feature to transpose them all and then made my secondary set of MF values from that. Right now the animation can be triggered either by touching the door or operator. In the final world i may have a remote control in the HUD for this or perhaps a wall control inside and a keypad outside that requires a code. (no worries the code will be the same as it is for the safe) hehehe.
Anyways I thought maybe ya'll might like to take a gander at it so i uploaded it this evening.

| Excellent Stuff! Amazing you are doing all the animation by hand. |

LOL i didn't animate the garage door by hand. I WISH! lol. that is just too many fractal numbers to do by hand. I copied all of the MF(values) from the esxported interpolators and then did the rest by hand though. I also devised a way to reverse the path and do the *reverse fields for the scripting purposes. It had been a very long time though since i have used an application to animate anything. most of the very simple animations are pretty easy to do by hand. This particular animation had to be very precise to pull off.
I am glad you like it! |

Winter got ya' down and you just need to get out and click something?
I made a new toy to put in my world that will probably be a hit with some and others might hate me because it makes their computer freeze! lol
I thought about maybe limiting the number of creations on this but VC told me to let it ride. hehehe.
Anyways have fun with it and don't look for this to be a shared event.

Eheheh Isa, you got my idea
OK, I'll reveal it
If you doubt is the same vase, look at this video:

A hint to keep our finished vase
After planting we can keep the finished vase using a feature of bs contact:
Click F11 and the finished object will be saved at this location in your hard disc: C:\Documents and Settings\vcardoso\Local Settings\Application Data\Bitmanagement Software\cache
(this can be slightly different in your PC, depending on the settings you have)
Enjoy this WRL vase file here:
