Alain the controls for the digger and also the controls for the TTTree maker are locked up in the safe. To unlock the safe you need to find the combination to it. The superintendant of the job site might have hidden the combination inside his top desk drawer but don't take my word for it!
there is a picture of both states of the safe in these screenshots:

There are several interactive features in this trailer and I am told by a reliable source that the job superintendant keeps his best stuff inside the safe. Taking collision off and peering inside won't do it though I'm afraid you will have to enter the correct combination. No worries though for those that are diligent... I hear the super is kind of forgetful and fearing he may forget the combination himself, he wrote it down and it probably is somewhere in the trailer. look in the usual places. |
I had posted this information as part of my introduction in my blog when this world was released. I guess not alot of people read my blog.
LOL. j/k. i hope you found the combination ok. It was kind of hidden in plain site so to speak |

I added a lifesize staue of Athena to the front of the house. I didn't model this but rather got a model from one of those 3d model sites and shrunk the polys a bit. I added the texcoordgen blaxxun node extension as well as the drop handler proto to it so you can drag textures from your desktop to the statue and the reflection layer will "reflect" your added image. LOL
Just another thing to play with i guess and it was pretty quick to add. Please tell me if it looks stupid and I can remove it. lol |

|
|
Hello,
I was playing around with the blaxxun font attributes and thought I would make some font textures. I got a little carried away and do not know if I will ever use all of them but thought I would make them available to everyone. There is 35 different transparent font textures with the backgrounds removed and I created a wrl file to display them.
I also added a couple of cool BM font attributes that could be useful such as the outline attribute. It is much lower poly than normal font and looks pretty cool. be aware that you must assign the outline attribute emissiveColor in the material node or it doesn't display well.
Another feature blaxxun has is the ability to use some TrueType Fonts from M$. The example I made uses comic sans. The extrude feature can be a pretty high polygon attribute and should be used sparingly. If you set the size of the font to 0.1 the you get a little bit lower polycount because of reduced tesselation.
I included the BM file desriptions for various attributes inside the wrl in comment lines.
The font texture however is the lowest polygon option of all. each character represents 1 polygon and you can use any number of combinations of font texture. I also included the BM Template for making your own if you wish.
This is very easy to use technique as there are no protos to add to your file. simply add the attribute tags into your fontStyle node and voila. Below is the link to the example file and after you have clicked through all of the option you can pull the various font textures from your cache and save them.

Can I be a bit ennoying and say it's not really a blog but a dedicated forum thread .
Anyway, if it is what it's called, then it's a blog !
I read the informations, but they were told here earlier than the scene access... Maybe I make a mistake, don't know, that's just my memory of it...
Just to say I forgot those informations at the time I came to the amazing scene.
Thanks to alain I got the info back in the french forum where I answer a post from vcard telling the Laz scene was out ... And I found out the code uh uh
Not tried yet the statue though. |

Thank you VC for expanding on the example. I spent so much time making all those textures i guess i hurried through the vrml example and forgot the back button
I hope that these font textures can of help to someone.
As Fabricator pointed out on WbanD I should have a zip file containing all these examples. so here it is

Funny you should mention that statue. The statue IS a statue of a GOD. I didnt realize that Athena would have as much power as she does simply by adding her into my scene but it now appears there is some sort of GOD PROTO (God particle-hadron-collider) at work here!
I haven't fully investigated this rather strange side effect yet of Athena's presence but after looking at the drop handler code more closely I see it has an event to get world url and load it. Somehow the attributes of Athena seem have affected the entire world. By accident I discovered this last night as I went to drag a texture onto Athena but missed and hit the front doors instead. Oddly enough the door texture changed. I then ran around frantically adding textures to everything in the world and everything is changeable. And if the item has siblings like there are other proto instances they change as well as the one you dragged the texture onto. I haven't decided yet whether this is a really cool thing or a nuisance. At any rate is is definately unique! LOL
As I said, I had a closer look at that proto and I can kind of see why this is happening but still am amazed that a proto, that is tucked neatly inside another proto, that is externo referenced into a main world can affect every piece of geometry in it that has ImageTexture node, without having a single event that links it with the drophandler. I am wondering if the author of this proto (Holger Grahn) knew that it was godlike and would affect every node it came in contact with? Sometimes it is a painstaking thing to make various nodes see each other and talk to each other and then along comes the GOD PROTO and has a captive audience with all of them at once. LMAO
So the question is now....
Should I climb mount olympus and try to take Godhead out at it's "source" or leave this strange anomoly in the world because it is kind of a cool and wonderfully cool side effect? LOL
If anyone reads this please go try this for yourself and let me know your opinions. help to anser the question of whether to leave the god proto as is or send hercules in to do battle with the evil GOD PROTO.
Below is an example picture!
