... I'm going to get ABnet up and running.

I don't know how long it will take, or what it will take, but someday I'll get it to work.

Hey, it's healthy to try to beat the odds.

I'm sure you have seen the information on how to use
the server here like your own personal one, right?

It is a lot easier to use the server here, than to set
one up at your own server. Because of the activex
control you can still create your own customized
user interface.

Look at this link:

http://vrmlworld.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=448

However, the file latestui.zip is probably out of date with the
current 3dchat.html and abnet.js and common.js ..

you might want to save http://vrmlworld.net/abnet/3dchat.html
to your local disk and compare.

Did you set your world up on the vrmlworld.net server yet Zordaan? Which one is it? I'd like to see.

Yes Rick, I'm familiar with the world-sharing feature, and in fact I've used it a couple of times to test worlds I've built. It's really nice.

What I've never managed to get working is the ABnet server. I've been interested in the subject of VRML for about 12 years, and I'd love nothing more than to base a new big website on using ABnet. Unfortuneately, I don't have the first clue as to how to get it to operate. I've been trying to get ANY server that will do VRML to work for many years, but to no avail.

Whatever the secret is, it's well-guarded.

I tried the download link, which doesn't work. I downloaded the .html, and will give that a close inspection later, thanks. Smile

Lumin,

Here ya go... use http://vrmlworld.net/abnet2/ and paste in the following as the world URL:

http://h1.ripway.com/Zordaan/NomanzanIsland/NomanzanIsland.wrl

It's no great work, but it's the first convenient one I've had available since you asked.

Rick,

You may as well boast that ABnet works with both IE and CB. I use Crazy Browser with your client and it works perfectly.

Some people might enjoy knowing they have the choice.

Download it free from crazybrowser.com and see for yourself. Smile
